Our Mission

In keeping with our vision of a nonviolent, just resolution for Palestine that guarantees full equality of rights for all people, we strive to make an impact on American understanding of Palestine and Israel. Our mission is to do so through the following actions:

  • Increasing public awareness of Israel’s apartheid practices and its regular violations of Palestinian human rights

  • Supporting the nonviolent Boycott, Divestment, and Sanctions (BDS) movement, inspired by campaigns to end oppression in other parts of the world

  • Promoting dialogue on the legitimate goals of BDS at public universities and high schools, where such free exchange of ideas is endangered

  • Advocating change to a Florida law that threatens Floridians’ constitutional freedom of speech by penalizing criticism of Israeli practices

  • Meeting with our federal and state representatives to advocate policies supporting equal rights for Palestinians and Israelis

Food for thought on Palestinian human rights

  • “We are opposed to the injustice of the illegal occupation of Palestine. We are opposed to the indiscriminate killing in Gaza. We are opposed to the indignity meted out to Palestinians at checkpoints and roadblocks. We are opposed to violence perpetrated by all parties. But we are not opposed to Jews.”

    Archbishop Desmond Tutu

  • “This Israel anti-boycott legislation would give states a free pass to restrict First Amendment protections for millions of Americans. Despite my strong support for Israel, I oppose this legislation because it clearly violates the Constitution.”

    Senator Dianne Feinstein

  • "Whether they live in Gaza, East Jerusalem and the rest of the West Bank, or Israel itself, Palestinians are treated as an inferior racial group and systematically deprived of their rights. We found that Israel’s cruel policies of segregation, dispossession and exclusion across all territories under its control clearly amount to apartheid."

Dr. Agnes Callamard, Secretary General, Amnesty International

  • "The three main goals of BDS – ending the occupation, full equality to the Arab citizens of Israel and the right of return of Palestinian refugees – adhere to international law.... We are shocked that demands for equality and compliance with international law are considered anti-Semitic."

Statement signed by 240 Jewish & Israeli scholars

  • “The Illegal Settler Outpost Has Running Water. Its Palestinian Neighbors Don't. This Is Apartheid at Its Starkest.”

    Gideon Levy, Israeli journalist

  • "By making life unbearable here, is the state not really trying to bring about a quiet form of transfer, of ethnic cleansing? People who have the money or connections to move abroad do so."

    Susan Nathan, British Israeli author

  • "I continue to be deeply horrified by Israel’s bombardment and siege of Gaza. I condemn the killing of Palestinian civilians, the destruction of homes and neighbourhoods, and pushing people to the brink of starvation – there is no moral justification for this."

Rev. Justin Welby, Archbishop of Canterbury

  • "So many children will die who have never seen life outside of the walls of the ghetto that Israel has locked them in, as politicians here in the United States cheer on the carnage, claiming they are doing it to protect people of my own religion. This is genocide."

Stefanie Fox, Executive Director, Jewish Voice for Peace

  • "Genocide is clear. Truth is evident for all to see... If you are not appalled by what is happening, if you are not shaken to your core, there is something wrong with your humanity. And if we, as Christians, are not outraged by this genocide... we are compromising the credibility of our Gospel message."

Rev. Munther Isaac, Pastor, Christmas Lutheran Church (Bethlehem)
