  • A Palestinian Christian Shares his Family's Story

Partners for Palestine welcomed Rev. Dr. Alex Awad for a special presentation on December 14, 2023. Rev. Awad is a native of Jerusalem, forced to leave his home in 1948 after his father was killed by an Israeli sniper and his family displaced. He served with his wife Brenda as a United Methodist missionary to the Holy Land for many years, teaching at Bethlehem Bible College and pastoring a church in East Jerusalem. He has preached in Gaza churches and knows members of their congregations who were killed in Israel's recent bombings.

  • From Prison to Pulpit: A Conversation with Father K

From a Prison in Israel to a Pulpit in Florida, Pastor Khader el-Yateem has carried a clear and unwavering commitment to justice. During his years as a community organizer and candidate for political office in New York, he earned the nickname "Father K," and a movie was made about his life. A Lutheran pastor, he now serves as Assistant to the Bishop for the Evangelical Lutheran Church Florida-Bahamas Synod. Partners for Palestine was privileged to have him as our guest on December 21st for a Zoom session in which he shared his thoughts on the silence of American churches during the ongoing genocide in Gaza. We are pleased to share this candid and enlightening exchange.
